The plot revolves around a U.S. Marine unit operating in the Vietnam War in 1970, and the film begins with a raid on a village. After massacring the villagers, the Marines steal the village's gold, much to the displeasure of their Vietnamese translator and guide. After the credits roll, it's 15 years later, and one member of the unit is being murdered one by one. This leads to the former leader of the unit, now a high-ranking officer, announcing that the only person who can discover the killer's identity is an Australian, Major Brad Cooper.
