Rewind Rating System

Valuation system for used VHS tapes

Our Rewind Rating System can help you to better assess the condition of a used VHS cassette. This system rates the condition of a cassette based on various criteria such as wear and tear, functionality and packaging. Here are the ratings:

  • Factory Sealed (New & shrink-wrapped): Original, unopened cassette in perfect condition. Especially valuable for collectors.
  • Top condition (Unrewound): Mint VHS cassette, hardly used, with no visible damage to cassette or cover.
  • Very good (Collector's Choice): Opened but barely recorded cassette with minimal signs of use and a well-preserved case.
  • Used (Rewind & Play): Used cassette with visible but not serious wear, including intact cover.
  • Worn (Fast Forward Wear): Clearly visible signs of use, but functional. Cover may have slight damage.
  • Defective (Tape Tangle): Heavy wear, possibly defective cassette or damaged cover, suitable for nostalgia value only.

This system helps collectors and sellers to better assess the value of a VHS cassette and set fair prices.
