This science fiction classic, a popular drive-in movie, is about teenager Steve and his best friend Jane, who try to protect their hometown from a gelatinous alien life form that devours everything it touches. Steve and Jane are the first to discover the substance and report it. They see the blob swallow an older man and then grow to a terrifying size. But no one else has seen the sticky mass, and police officer Dave refuses to believe the kids without proof.
