Set in northern Australia before World War II, an English aristocrat who has inherited a sprawling ranch reluctantly forms an alliance with a cattle drover to protect her new property from a takeover attempt. As the two drive 2,000 cattle through an unforgiving landscape, they witness firsthand the Japanese bombing of Darwin.
