Charles Duchemin, a renowned gourmet and editor of a famous restaurant guide, is waging a battle against the fast-food giant Tri-catel to save French cuisine. After agreeing to appear on a talk show to demonstrate his ability to identify food and wine by taste, he is faced with two disasters: his son wants to be a clown rather than a restaurant critic, and he, the famous Charles Duchemin, has lost his sense of taste!
