Plot: A film about the historic uprising of the Kiel sailors: During the Russian October Revolution of 1917, German and Russian soldiers show solidarity with each other. The engineer Henne Lonke and the stoker Jens Kasten prevent the attack on a Russian freighter by disarming the officers. When the German Admiralty issues the order for Operation "Nibelungen", which is intended to lead the German fleet on a suicidal attack on England and suppress the revolutionary spirit, sailors and soldiers with different political backgrounds unite in protest.
