The Decision - A True Story on DVD

Jim Morris never made it out of the minor leagues before a shoulder injury ended his pitching career twelve years ago. Now married with kids, he works as a chemistry teacher and baseball coach at a Texas high school. Jim's team makes him a deal: if they win the district championship, Jim will try out for a major league organization. The gamble is incentive enough for the team, which climbs from last place to first and wins the state championship for the first time in school history. Now forced to honor his end of the bargain, Jim is nearly laughed off the field at the tryout—until he steps onto the field and stuns the scouts (and himself) with a series of 98-mile fastballs good enough for a minor league contract with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Jim still has a long way to go before he makes it to the major leagues, but with his big-league dream rekindled, there's no telling how far he might go.
