The Newton family lives in their comfortable home, but something seems to be missing. This "hole" is filled by a small puppy who moves into their house and their lives. Beethoven, as he is called, grows up to be a giant dog... a St. Bernard. Doctor Varnick, the local veterinarian, has a secret and terrible side business that requires many dogs for experiments. Beethoven is on the evil doctor's list.
