Will Hunting is headstrong but aimless. He has a genius-level IQ but prefers working as a janitor at MIT. When he secretly solves highly complex, graduate-level math problems, Professor Gerald Lambeau notices his talent and decides to help the wayward youth reach his potential. When Will is arrested for assaulting a police officer, Professor Lambeau negotiates a plea deal: Will will receive a reduced sentence if he undergoes court-ordered therapy. Eventually, therapist Dr. Sean Maguire helps Will confront the demons holding him back.
