Chris' Soundtrack Corner presents the first-ever CD soundtrack release for AFYON OPPIO (The Sicilian Connection, 1972). This Italian crime film tells the story of an American gangster who becomes embroiled in the dangerous world of heroin trafficking in Europe.

The lead role is compellingly played by Ben Gazzara (Anatomy of a Murder, The Bridge at Remagen). The film score was composed by the legendary brothers Guido De Angelis and Maurizio De Angelis, known for their distinctive blend of catchy melodies, ethnic influences, and energetic songs (Keoma, Trinity Is Still My Name).

The diverse score features Sicilian-inspired soundscapes, memorable vocal themes in the style of Oliver Onions, as well as jazz and rock elements in a typical 70s sound. The album is complemented by a romantic theme dedicated to actress Sylvia Monti.
