Enzo G. Castellari's Keoma (1976) is considered one of the last great classics of the genre. For the music, the brother duo was inspired by artists such as Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan. The recurring vocal passages act like a Greek chorus, reflecting the thoughts, conflicts, and emotions of the taciturn hero. This creates an extraordinary connection between image and music that makes the film unique to this day.

The album is supplemented by music from Castellari's adventure film Il cacciatore di squali (The Hunter of Sharks, 1979). The melodic and atmospheric film score captures the beauty of tropical landscapes as well as the tension of the dangerous underwater world.
