House of Sand and Fog on DVD

Behrani, an Iranian immigrant, buys a California bungalow hoping to renovate it, resell it, and earn enough money to pay for his son's college education. However, the house is legally owned by Kathy, a former drug addict. After losing the house in an unfair legal battle with the county, she doesn't know where to go. To reclaim her home, she hires a lawyer and befriends a police officer. Neither Kathy nor Behrani has broken the law, leaving them in a difficult moral dilemma.
