Plot: Every year, the Chincoteague Fire Department rounds up the wild ponies from Assateague Island and then auctions off the foals and yearlings to reduce the herd. A young brother and sister, Paul and Maureen Beebe, have their sights set on owning a particular wild three-year-old pony, the Phantom. However, they must first earn the money, capture the Phantom at the roundup (which she never did), and then outbid everyone else at the auction to win her. And even the Phantom himself has a surprise for Paul and Maureen: a foal named Misty.
