Ten-year-old Pixote suffers torture, humiliation, and corruption in a local juvenile detention center, where two of its inmates are murdered by police officers who blame Lilica, a 17-year-old transgender girl. Pixote helps Lilica and three other boys escape, and they begin to make a living through crime, which only leads to more violence and death.
