During a business trip to Los Angeles, Edward Lewis, a multimillionaire entrepreneur who makes his living by buying and breaking up companies, picks up a prostitute named Vivian after asking her for directions. Edward then hires Vivian to accompany him for the weekend and to attend several social events. The two grow closer but discover that there are significant obstacles to overcome as they try to bridge the gap between their very different worlds.
