Forget how he met his friend "Ruki" as a teenager, accompanied his rise to become a successful boxer and witnessed his victory as German light heavyweight champion on June 9, 1933 - a title that was stripped of Ruki just a few days later due to alleged "inadequate performance". And how he met Ruki again nine years later, scarred by the hardest forced labor in the Neuengamme concentration camp. And how, although he had hardly any strength left, he had to compete in boxing matches every evening to amuse the guards. Rike Reiniger lets her fictional character Hans tell the story of his friendship with the real professional boxer Johann Wilhelm Trollmann, known as "Rukeli". In doing so, she sheds light on the exclusion and devaluation of Sinti and Roma under National Socialism.
