Chris’ Soundtrack Corner veröffentlicht eine erweiterte CD-Ausgabe des Soundtracks zu A BAY OF BLOOD (1971), einem wegweisenden Horrorfilm von Mario Bava. Der Film gilt als früher Vorläufer des Slasher-Genres und entwickelte den Giallo-Stil, den Bava bereits mit The Girl Who Knew Too Much prägte, konsequent weiter.

Die Musik stammt von Stelvio Cipriani, der hier erstmals mit Bava zusammenarbeitete, gefolgt von Baron Blood und Rabid Dogs. Sein Score kombiniert eingängige Melodien mit experimentellen Klangstrukturen: Tribal-Drums, elektrische Gitarren, Pop-Elemente und atonale Texturen erzeugen eine dichte, spannungsgeladene Atmosphäre, die die drastische Bildsprache des Films wirkungsvoll unterstützt.

Diese erweiterte Edition enthält die komplette Musik der früheren Veröffentlichung sowie 11 Bonus-Tracks (davon 7 bisher unveröffentlicht), darunter alternative Takes und verlängerte Versionen. Die Trackreihenfolge wurde für ein optimales Hörerlebnis unabhängig vom Film angepasst.

Die CD wird durch ein 16-seitiges, illustriertes Booklet mit exklusiven Linernotes von Randall D. Larson ergänzt. Ein unverzichtbares Release für Fans von Horror-Soundtracks, Giallo-Klassikern und italienischer Filmmusik der 70er-Jahre.
