Chris' Soundtrack Corner releases an expanded CD edition of the soundtrack to A BAY OF BLOOD (1971), a seminal horror film by Mario Bava. The film is considered an early precursor to the slasher genre and consistently developed the Giallo style, which Bava had already shaped with The Girl Who Knew Too Much.

The music is by Stelvio Cipriani, who collaborated with Bava for the first time here, followed by Baron Blood and Rabid Dogs. His score combines catchy melodies with experimental sound structures: tribal drums, electric guitars, pop elements, and atonal textures create a dense, suspenseful atmosphere that effectively supports the film's drastic imagery.

This expanded edition contains the complete music from the previous release, plus 11 bonus tracks (7 of which are previously unreleased), including alternative takes and extended versions. The track order has been adjusted for an optimal listening experience, independent of the film.

The CD is complemented by a 16-page, illustrated booklet with exclusive liner notes by Randall D. Larson. An essential release for fans of horror soundtracks, Giallo classics, and 70s Italian film music.
