Norma and Arthur Lewis, a suburban couple with a young child, receive a simple wooden box as a gift, but its consequences are fatal and irrevocable. A mysterious stranger informs them that the box will grant its owner $1 million at the push of a button. However, pressing this button will simultaneously cause the death of another person, unknown to them, somewhere in the world. With only 24 hours to deal with the box, Norma and Arthur are confronted with a terrifying moral dilemma and forced to grapple with the true nature of their humanity.
