In 1250 BC, during the late Bronze Age, two rising nations began to fight each other. Paris, the Trojan prince, persuaded Helen, the queen of Sparta, to leave her husband Menelaus and sail with him to Troy. When Menelaus learned that his wife had been abducted by the Trojans, he asked his brother Agamemnon to help him retrieve her. Agamemnon saw this as an opportunity to seize power. They set sail for Troy with 1,000 ships and 50,000 Greeks.
