Plot: At the 1936 Berlin Olympics, Inge Wagner falls in love with Luftwaffe lieutenant Herbert Koch. They plan to get married, but he receives orders to go to Spain - incognito, without permission for any contacts with his friends and relatives. Inge is still waiting for him. After the start of World War II, German radio begins broadcasting the "Wunschkonzert für die Wehrmacht" - a program consisting of soldiers' wishes. He hears the song he wished for, and Inge hears it too. A friend of Inge's, hoping that she will agree to marry him, comes to the same squadron in which Koch flies. Koch and Inge arrange to meet in a Hamburg restaurant, but he and Ilse's boyfriend are shot down the day before. In the hospital, Koch learns that he and his friend love the same girl. He believes that they are already engaged and is ready to break up with her.
