Alain Lefevre is a boxer paid by a Marseille mobster to fight. After winning the fight, he tries to escape to America with Katrina, the mobster's girlfriend. This plan fails, and he attempts to escape by joining the French Foreign Legion. As a member of the Legion, he clashes with the abusive Lieutenant Steinkampf and befriends legionnaires Luther, Mackintosh, and Rosetti.
