The Cradle of the Sun: When a prostitute is found dead in a Los Angeles skyscraper occupied by a major Japanese corporation, detectives John Connor and Web Smith are called in to investigate. Although Connor has previous experience working in Japan, cultural differences complicate the pair's progress until a security disk reveals the murder. Upon closer inspection, it turns out the disk has been tampered with, and the investigators realize they are also dealing with a cover-up.
