In the final days of World War II, the Nazis attempt to bolster their dying cause with black magic. The Allies raid the camp where the ceremony is taking place, but before doing so, they summon a demon baby, who is rescued by the Allied forces and named "Hellboy." Sixty years later, Hellboy serves as an agent of the Bureau of Paranormal Research & Defense, fighting for good instead of evil. Together with Abe Sapien, a merman with psychic abilities, and Liz Sherman, a woman with pyrokinesis, he protects America from dark forces.
